RELATE

An intimate group program to heal your relationship with yourself and others and have more capacity to be with life.

This is an immersive group program
to deepen our relationship
with ourselves, each other and life.

RELATE is going be soo good for all things relational and relationshipy…

Better connections and listening to and with our bodies.

Better understanding how to be with the multiplicity within ourselves.

Better ways of co-regulating and attuning to ourselves and each other.

Better ways to argue, communicate, share, listen with and to.

Better ways to have freedom and boundaries, love and anger, mourning and celebration, boredom and play.

Better ways of understanding our internal and family systems and how to take care of them and each other.

Why analyse things if they don't lead to more connection and capacity to experience the things, people and community we long for and are worthy of?

Over the years my life has not been easy. I've had a pretty intense path. And there have been times where I wished I had more access to a deeper place of love and acceptance to hold myself instead of trying to fix myself or cutting off from what needed care. And I wanted better ways for connecting and sharing with others that offered more honest relating and let more of me and them show up...

For that past 15 years I've been more directly exploring these needs and...it turns out most people have them too.

So as both a professional and a diverse human with a multiplicity of needs and parts, I've spent lots of time finding ways to meet these needs. Ways that offer inclusion instead of exclusion. Ways that include our bodies, our inner diversity and each other.

I've discovered that when we learn to relate to ourselves with a wider perspective, with radical acceptance and with wild compassion we can also do that with others. I've discovered that there are ways to build capacity for showing up and moving closer that don't shame and blame or overwhelm who we are...who they are.

I've discovered that healing happens through relating and relationship not on an island.

Soo...I'm running this intimate closed group program so we as a community can learn and explore these beautiful things together. So we can relate to ourselves and each other better. So we can un-shame our experiences. So we can uncover the parts and places within us that have been silenced and exiled and give them a place and together move towards more wholeness.

Over the years with this lens and medicine, I’ve had so many clients say that they’ve changed more in 6 sessions than they had in 10-20 years of therapy. I’ve been wanting to bring this experience into group spaces more often. I run lots of other group processes, but this feels like something super special. A container where we can keep practising and receiving support for integration.

  • Create a safe enough space for you and the history you bring to be met with curiosity and acceptance.

  • To offer resources you can use for your body, your nervous system, and your relationship with yourself and others.

  • Allow your challenges to be seen and heard with loving awareness.

  • Connect with new tools and new perspectives that will allow for more shared compassion, acceptance, belonging and wholeness.

  • To give you an embodied learning experience, that practiced over time will offer deeper integration and resources that will allow you to experience more of life.

“Aubri’s space holding/breadth of knowledge was incredible. The language around trusting my own bodies invitation or decline of offerings. The beautiful people in the group, and how present and allowing they were.  Me! And my ability (with very skilled guidance) to stay with me during my process ... I am so grateful and curious to see what comes next.

WHAT: RELATE is a 6-month program to support a movement towards radical wholeness and more helpful relating to ourselves, each other and life. It's for all folks and genders.

You will be exploring somatic resourcing, somatic inquiry, compassionate communication, soul healing statements, creative rituals and arts based expressive processes. You will also learn the basics of attachment theory and be introduced to the impact of the many systems that we are interwoven into how we relate, including the nervous system, the sensory processing system, social engagement system and family systems.

WHEN: Our group learning starts September 10th and repeats for 6 2.5-3-hour sessions on the second Sunday of each month. You will also be meeting with a “buddy” once a week for buddy practice and have optional daily solo practices.

WHERE: We will be meeting for our group learning and practice at Kawana Island Meeting Place, in meeting room B, next door to the Green Zebra overlooking the water.

How: We will gather in person once a month for 2.5-3 hours. The time for our sessions is flexible as it is guided by what is needed for the group to integrate. Sometimes things naturally feel complete a little sooner and sometimes they need a bit more time.

There will be a mix of theory/didactic learning and practical/experiential exercises.
Sometimes you will be guided through solo practice as a group, other times you will be put in smaller breakout groups and other times in pairs. You will also have optional daily practices you can do to deepen what we learn and share in group. You will have buddy practice once a week to bring this into practice with another being between sessions. And you will have a group chat to share and support each other as a whole.

WHO: This program will be facilitated by me, Aubri and supported by 2 assistants, Glenn Wilkinson and Mary McGilvray, who have been immersing in this work with me for a good while and also have their own beautiful perspectives and insights to add and contribute as practitioners and humans.

Why: Because you are called. You want something that is more embodied, compassionate, open and less pathological shaming and blaming. You like the benefits, community and extra insight of group learning. You want a container that offers space and time for more integration and practice vs a weekend workshop or a retreat with no follow up. You want to learn and practice so you can take this with you into the rest of your life.

FAQ:

GROUP CARE:

Choice and trust are a big part of moving towards wholeness. So all group activities are optional, and you will be guided through self-check in process to make sure, as much as possible, your being is onboard, that you can trust yourself and you are not forcing yourself into doing things you are not ready for or fawning.

Boundaries are also very important. We will open the first session setting group boundaries and guidelines, in addition to the terms of this program, that will help everyone feel like they can participate/share/be available to learn.

Responsibility & Roles are key in these spaces. This is a learning space. It is not therapy. I am responsible for guiding you, educating you and offering process that may feel helpful and that you can use with yourself and others. I am not your therapist, nor am I your parent, nor is anyone else attending. I am the teacher, and you are the student.

By participating and learning in this workshop/course, you understand that it may bring up issues of a personal nature that may cause you to experience emotional or physical responses that may be unexpected and/or even unpleasant. Even learning about things like attachment theory can be tender. It is your responsibility to communicate if things are “too much” and if you need extra support and resourcing. If what comes up for you is beyond what this group container is here to offer, it is your responsibility to get help from an outside professional and/or ask for help in finding someone (which we are happy to do).

This program is not a replacement or substitute for therapy or other forms of professional support.
