Group Guidelines & Agreement
Boundaries and guidelines are an important part of any trauma and healing work and as such it is important that we all do our best to create boundaries and guidelines for the time you are studying with us.
These practicals and guidelines are in place to help create a supportive container for you and your fellow participants.
We also appreciate you are human, and if any of these guidelines do not feel possible for you, or require consideration or a heart to heart, please do speak to us about it.
This program will be resourcing, deepening, revealing, fun, playful and transformational. We will explore the foundations of this work through experiential and multi-sensory learning using our own personal systems as material for the learning and embodiment of the work.
My hope is that you will become a more embodied human and have the teachings of this work not just conceptualised, but felt in your being so that you can share it authentically with those you are called to serve.
SELF CARE
This is not personal therapy. It’s important that you set a container for this time together, honour your needs and your nervous system and have the right support during the 6 months we are together what ever that may look like for you (therapy, coaching, friends, meditation, nature). It’s good medicine to give less energy to things that are not helpful and to prioritize extra support for your being, your soma and your nervous system during this time. This will help you get the most out of the training.
These sessions will be moving a lot of energy in your systems and it’s important to have the right container and resources. Expect to have shifts in your identity and your relationships as things organically reorganise in your own system as result of the experiential learning we are doing together.
ATTENDANCE
- It is expected that you attend all classes. If you miss a session due to unforeseen emergency you can complete a written reflection on the topics discussed.
During Zoom session please consider when to have your camera on in class. It is encouraged to keep your camera on to support participation and to support others through getting to know other humans. And in equal measure we also encourage you to take some space for yourself and turn your camera off when appropriate. It would be more appropriate to do so during theory and lecture vs group exercises for example.
- Prior to each session, please arrive at least 5 minutes early to get settled and land before we open — we will start on time.
ASSIGNMENTS
As discussed in your consultation, this course does come with assignments and buddy practices each week. It's essential that these assignments are intentionally held within the container of this group as well as in a timely manner. Buddy partners will be rotated throughout the course. These require some flexibility to meet with your buddy for 1 hour to 1.5 hours. Some weeks buddy practice will be shorter than others.
WHATSAPP GROUP
We have a WhatsApp group to stay connected, where things can be shared about the course and buddy requirements.
CERTIFICATION TRACKING + Dropbox
You will be given access to a Dropbox folder that will contain class recordings for powerpoints and all the assignments. Certificate of hours completed will be given to you at the end of the program. This is not a certification of competency.
CONFIDENTIALITY
All course materials, recordings and demos are personal and sharing is to be kept strictly private and confidential to create a space where all participants feel open to sharing their experience
A. Materials
All materials created by Aubri Hathaway remain the property of Aubri Hathaway. Please check in with us if you wish to use outside of this course. Public materials and resources, i.e links to public youtube videos, can be shared freely.
B. Sharing Experiences
From time to time you will be asked to share your experience of partner homework. When doing so we ask that you only share from your experience and not your perception of someone else’s experience.
Examples:
“There was part of me that did not connect with that exercise” ☑️
“I don’t think that John was listening to me and I didn’t feel connected.” ❎
You will also get to experience sessions as an observer. We ask that you only share from your own experience or asking questions on the process. Even if you feel like you have a connection with that person we ask that you do not comment in a way that can breach boundaries.
Examples:
To a tutor:
“What was the reason for choosing to represent that particular issue?.” ☑️
To a participant:
“You seem really uncomfortable, I know how you are feeling” ❎
